Wuthering Waves 3.6 launches August 20 with two new Resonators and DLSS 4.5 support

The open-world action RPG Wuthering Waves is getting a major 3.6 update titled "Lamplight in Mirage, Sword's Resolve in Heart" on August 20, 2026. The patch arrives simultaneously on iOS, Android, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, advancing the main storyline in the Mengzhou region. Developer Kuro Games has also introduced two new 5-star Resonators and a broad performance overhaul across all platforms.

Qingxiao joins the roster in Phase 1 as a 5-star Aero sword-wielding DPS character, entering combat with her signature weapon, Glint of Clouds. Jingran follows in Phase 2 as a 5-star Fusion broadblade DPS, paired with his own signature weapon, Thousandfold Deliverance. Both characters expand the featured Resonator convenes across the version's two banner phases.

The update also adds high-difficulty combat content: the Calamity Effigy Echo, the Phantom–Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis enemy, and a matching Tactical Hologram boss encounter built around the Rustfire Chassis.

Kuro Games says version 3.6 brings underlying engine work designed to improve performance on every supported platform, driven by a switch in the programming language used for development. Livestream coverage of the update pointed to roughly a 10 FPS improvement in targeted scenarios, though the figure has not been published in official materials. On PC, the game adds support for Nvidia DLSS 4.5 frame generation to deliver higher frame rates while reducing visual artifacts and ghosting.

Quality-of-life changes round out the patch. Echo management gains more precise equipment recommendations, previews, and build suggestions tied to saved plans. Version 3.6 also adds themed backgrounds for the Expedition Motorbike, unlocked through main quest progress. Sharing gets an upgrade, making 5-star Convene pulls, gallery shots, and challenge clears easier to post. The mailbox has been expanded to 200 messages with higher attachment limits, and a new mail collection feature prevents important messages from being caught up in bulk deletions.
