Timex unveils 30 mm square watches, its smallest E Line models yet

Timex has expanded its E Line with three new quartz watches that are now the smallest in the brand's current catalog. The newcomers feature the classic square case with rounded corners that earned the original 1983 model the "TV Dial" nickname, but measure just 30 mm across.

The case is 8.5 mm thick with a 36.5 mm lug-to-lug distance, notably smaller than the previously introduced 34 mm automatic versions. Lug width drops to 10 mm, and the steel bracelet fits wrists from 135 to 190 mm in circumference. All three models are powered by a quartz movement running on an SR626SW battery, so they lack a date window and an exhibition caseback — a nod to minimalist dials.

The dials feature a sunray finish instead of the horizontal texture used on the new automatics. Applied hour markers and a printed minute track are present. The flat glass is mineral, and water resistance is rated at 50 meters. The bracelet alternates brushed and polished links and closes with a butterfly deployant clasp.

The TW6A01000 with a pink dial and steel bracelet costs $269. The gold-tone TW6A00900 is priced at $289, as is the TW6A00800 with a champagne dial, two-tone bracelet, and gold-tone bezel. All watches are in stock now.

Timex's listings contain a minor inconsistency: the specifications mention a flat mineral glass crystal, while feature copy further down the product pages refers to acrylic. The same conflict appears on the 38 mm automatic listings.

The quartz newcomers are priced close to the 34 mm automatics, which sell for $259–$299 and come with a Miyota mechanical movement and a date window. Buyers are largely paying for the smaller case rather than the mechanics.
