Songs of Glimmerwick finally gets a release date: September 30, 2026 on Steam

Eastshade Studios, the two-person development team behind the exploration game Eastshade, has finally announced the release date for its fantasy RPG Songs of Glimmerwick. The game will launch on September 30, 2026, exclusively for PC via Steam, with a later release planned for unspecified consoles. The announcement came alongside a new gameplay trailer.

The project was first revealed back in January 2022 and was originally slated for a 2023 release, but development took considerably longer than expected. Recently, the studio had been targeting a launch before the end of 2026, and now that window has narrowed to a specific day.

Songs of Glimmerwick is set in the forested fantasy world of Glimmerwick, where magic is born from music. The region is best known for its magic university, the Slaughterhouse, which accepts the player character. Armed with a flute and a songbook, players will attend classes and after-school clubs, tend to the university garden, make friends, and uncover the oddities and secrets of Glimmerwick.

Technical director Danny Weinbaum shared a message with fans: "It's been a long journey, and we can't wait for you to finally explore Glimmerwick. Mark your calendars. See you at the Slaughterhouse!"

The developers promise a peaceful story-driven RPG featuring a full cycle of seasons, festivals, curses, and witchy pranks. Players will be able to customize the protagonist's gender and appearance. All characters are fully voice-acted, and the game includes a full Russian text translation. A playable demo remains available on Steam for those who want to try the game before its release next year.
