Breathedge is free for 48 hours, sequel hits Steam Early Access on August 31

Ahead of the Early Access launch of Breathedge 2, publisher HypeTrain Digital and developer RedRuins Softworks have made the original Breathedge temporarily free. The giveaway is exclusive to Steam and ends on August 9 at 20:00 Moscow time.

The first game, which got its full release in February 2021, is an ironic adventure about surviving in outer space. The protagonist, known as the Guy, was transporting his grandfather's remains to a funeral but ended up in the middle of an intergalactic conspiracy. Players must build a space station, craft plenty of items — both useful and useless — and get through a story full of dark humor, cynical dialogue, deliberately bad animation, and an immortal chicken.

The developers commented on the giveaway with self-irony, noting that the news is for those who "somehow haven't downloaded the game from torrents," want to explore the lore through the Guy's dialogues, or simply collect titles they will never play.

As for the sequel, Breathedge 2 enters Steam Early Access on August 31. A new gameplay trailer has been released to mark the occasion. The team promises a continuation of the story of the Guy, the Chicken, and the Kid, signature humor, "plenty of save slots," updated graphics, and support for 13 languages, including full Russian and English localizations with text and voice acting.
