LEGO turns Batman's 1992 Batmobile into a Batmissile with a $230 set

LEGO has announced a new collector's set, the LEGO Batman Returns Batmobile, recreating the iconic vehicle from Tim Burton's 1992 film Batman Returns. The set was developed in collaboration with Warner Bros. and consists of 2,269 pieces.

Once assembled, the model measures approximately 45 cm in length, 17 cm in width, and 10 cm in height, making it one of the largest collector Batmobiles in the LEGO lineup. The set includes a Batman minifigure based on Michael Keaton's portrayal from the movie.

The standout feature of the set is a transformation mechanism that mirrors one of the film's most memorable scenes. When activated, the side panels of the vehicle fold inward, converting the classic Batmobile into a narrower Batmissile — the form used in the movie to navigate tight city streets.

LEGO designers aimed to accurately replicate the on-screen car's appearance, focusing on the distinctive silhouette, interior details, and signature design elements. The set also includes small Easter eggs for fans of the film.

The LEGO Batman Returns Batmobile is priced at $229.99. Sales are scheduled to begin in early September through the official LEGO store.
