System 3 has announced The James Pond Legacy: The Pond Is Not Enough for Nintendo Switch 2, a compilation that brings together 12 versions of four classic games from the series. The collection spans titles originally released on the Amiga 500, Mega Drive/Genesis, SNES, and Commodore 64.

The included games are James Pond: Underwater Agent, James Pond 2: RoboCod, James Pond 3: Operation Starfish, and The Aquatic Games Starring James Pond and the Aquabats. Each version is said to retain the original visuals, audio, and gameplay from its respective platform. The collection also features an interactive hub called "Pondverse," which includes character profiles, biographies, game and level information, original packaging artwork, and a series timeline.

The James Pond Legacy: The Pond Is Not Enough is scheduled for an October release on Switch 2, with both digital and physical editions planned. The physical edition will be limited to 6,000 units worldwide, a move likely aimed at collectors, especially given the ongoing debate around digital ownership of games.

Additionally, a new studio-recorded song titled "Maybe" is set to be released on Spotify and Apple Music ahead of the game's launch in October. The track is already featured in the newly released game trailer, which showcases the compilation's content and retro aesthetic.
