GPD Win Max 3 launches at $1,699 with 165 Hz OLED and up to 96 GB VRAM

GPD has quietly published full specifications for the Win Max 3 on its global website, pulling the curtain off the handheld ahead of an official announcement. First teased back in October 2025, the device now appears with a 9.06-inch OLED panel instead of the 10.1-inch screen found on its predecessor. The display runs at a 165 Hz refresh rate and hits 650 nits of SDR brightness, with a high brightness mode (HBM) that pushes peak output to 1,050 nits.

Under the hood, the Win Max 3 is powered by either the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 388 or Ryzen AI Max+ 395, both paired with the Radeon 8060S integrated GPU. Memory options span 32 GB to 128 GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM, while storage ranges from 512 GB to 4 TB. The system can allocate up to 96 GB of unified memory to the iGPU for graphics workloads.

The chassis has been reshaped compared to the Win Max 2: it is roughly 20 mm narrower and 13 mm shorter without the battery and cooling modules attached. Once those are installed, the length grows to 180 mm, making the device 20 mm longer than its predecessor.

Global orders are expected to open at the end of August 2026. Rumors suggest a starting price of $1,699, likely for the configuration with the Ryzen AI Max+ 388, 32 GB of RAM, and a 512 GB SSD. Full pricing details have yet to be confirmed by the company.
