A Reddit user going by ExplorEverythingOnce claims to have received a full refund for Battlefield 6 on Steam despite logging 470 hours in the game. That far exceeds the platform's standard refund window of two hours within two weeks of purchase.

As proof, the gamer shared a screenshot of their purchase history showing a complete reimbursement for the deluxe Phantom Edition, which they say was bought on launch day. However, they did not provide evidence of playtime or correspondence with Steam support, leaving a slight chance that a quick purchase and refund were made to back up the initial post.

Steam does have a track record of granting refunds outside the usual window under extenuating circumstances. In this case, Explor cited the surprise removal of several popular modes from Battlefield 6's standard quickplay queue as the reason for the request, which they claim convinced Steam support. The decisive factor was the removal of Rush, their preferred gametype throughout those 470 hours.

The player noted they have been a Steam customer for 22 years with 2,500 games on their account, and had only requested a refund once before this incident. Battlefield Studios framed the mode removal as a move to improve queue times and matchmaking health by funneling the bulk of players into fewer, supposedly more popular modes.
