City-builder Summerhouse drops to $2.49 — 50% off until August 13

The indie city-builder Summerhouse, holding an 89% positive rating on Steam, is now available at a 50% discount, bringing its price down to $2.49. The sale runs until August 13, and it is not a one-off deal: the title has been cycling through discounts almost continuously since launch, and the current reduction matches the lowest price ever recorded by SteamDB.

Gameplay in Summerhouse is deliberately minimal: players pick one of four settings — desert, meadow, city, or mountain — choose a time of day, and assemble houses from a parts library of walls, windows, doors, and clutter. There is no resource system, no failure state, and no progression to grind. You cannot win, and the game never pretends otherwise.

The creator, Friedemann, co-founded Berlin-based studio Grizzly Games and worked on Islanders and Superflight, both successful games that stripped their genres down to a single satisfying loop. Summerhouse is his first solo release, applying the same approach to city building. Publisher Future Friends Games has also built a catalog of comparable small-scope titles, including Omno and Exo One.

Roughly 3,000 Steam reviews sit near 89% positive, and the scattered complaints are worth examining. The object library can feel sparse sooner than players would like, and color customization covers only some pieces. At $2.49, that is hardly a dealbreaker, but it is worth knowing you are buying an afternoon or two of building rather than a hundred hours.

The most recent patch arrived on July 21, 2026. The game runs on Windows and macOS with full controller support for DualShock and DualSense pads, plus Steam Cloud saves and family sharing. SteamSpy estimates between 100,000 and 200,000 owners.

Beyond the standalone game, Steam lists Summerhouse across a dozen bundles alongside other small builders, and discounts apply to items you already own, so those are also worth checking if you decide to buy. The deal expires on August 13.
