Yandex Pay removed from App Store worldwide — user funds safe, but no more updates

The Yandex Pay app has been removed from the App Store in all regions. The company says customer funds remain secure and the service continues to work through its web version. The app already installed on iPhones will keep functioning, but it can no longer be updated or downloaded again.
Users are advised not to delete the app from their devices and to turn off automatic updates in iOS. This can be done by going to Settings, then Apps, selecting App Store, and disabling "Software Updates" under Automatic Downloads. The web version of Yandex Pay can be added to the home screen or opened in a browser.
Yandex Pay's press service expressed regret over the situation, promising to keep improving services and to "come up with something" regarding the app. The application remains available on Google Play and can be installed from alternative app stores if removed.
Apple removed Yandex Pay from the App Store on July 7, 2026, in nearly all countries except Russia. Previously, the app was only published in the Russian segments of Google's and Apple's stores. Shortly after, on July 24, the European Union approved its 21st sanctions package, which included restrictions on banking services from Yandex, Ozon, Wildberries, and several other financial organizations. These measures are likely the reason behind the complete removal of the app.
