53% of remote workers face corporate software glitches, survey finds

Hybrid work has become the norm for most employees, but the quality of corporate digital services remains a major source of frustration. A study by GC OTR found that 53% of workers periodically struggle with system freezes, slow performance, and interface errors. At the same time, 70% of respondents said they are comfortable working in a mixed format.

The survey covered 1,200 employees from companies in 20 Russian regions working in hybrid or remote setups. It showed that 54% of respondents split their time between the office and home, 25% work remotely most of the time, and 21% have fully switched to a remote arrangement.

The work format itself is no longer seen as an obstacle: 19% of participants described corporate digital services as very comfortable to use, and another 51% said they are rather comfortable despite some issues. Only 3% believe digital tools hinder their tasks. The main difficulties now stem from the quality of the digital environment rather than working at a distance.

Beyond technical failures, 38% of respondents feel more disconnected from their teams when working remotely, and 29% report communication challenges. Priorities have shifted toward reliability: 72% named convenience and speed of daily tasks as the top requirement, 64% cited stable performance without errors, and 38% want equally comfortable access to tools at home and in the office.

Trust in corporate software also hinges on stability: 75% of employees value the absence of constant outages above all. Personal data protection was highlighted by 39% of participants, and a modern interface by 22%. Digital tools have become integral to the workday: 89% use corporate email and messengers, 79% use video conferencing services, and 52% rely on task management systems.
