Vivo Y31T leak: affordable smartphone packs 7,200 mAh battery and IP68 rating

Vivo appears to be expanding its budget-friendly Y-series lineup with a new model dubbed the Y31T. Following the launch of the Y31, Y31 Pro, and Y31e 5G last year, the company is reportedly preparing another mid-range handset, and a fresh leak has already revealed its design and key specifications.

According to the report, the Vivo Y31T will stick with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset that powered the original Vivo Y31. The 4-nm ARM processor, introduced in 2023, pairs two Cortex-A78 performance cores with six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. The smartphone is expected to come with 4 GB to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB to 256 GB of internal storage, depending on the configuration.

In a bid to keep costs down, Vivo reportedly opted for the same display as before: a 6.75-inch IPS panel with 720p+ resolution and a peak brightness of 1,250 nits. For photography, the device is said to feature an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, a 50-megapixel main sensor on the back, and a secondary 2-megapixel module.

The standout feature of the Y31T is its massive 7,200 mAh battery, which supports wired charging at up to 44 watts via a USB-C port. Despite the large cell, the handset measures just 8.39 mm in thickness and carries an IP68 certification, making it fully waterproof and dust-resistant — a rare trait for an affordable device.

The Vivo Y31T is reportedly set to launch first in India, where it will be offered in green, red, and gold color options. Details regarding a potential international release have not been disclosed yet. However, given that the Vivo Y31e 5G was made available in other regions, including Europe, there is a chance the new model could also reach global markets in the future.
