Motorola leaks Edge 70 Neo in forum post recruiting Android 17 beta testers

Motorola has inadvertently confirmed the existence of the Edge 70 Neo, a smartphone that has not yet been officially announced. A senior company employee named Kevin posted a message on the Lenovo forum about recruiting participants for Android 17 beta testing, listing this exact model in the form.

Motorola owners showed no interest in the offer because such a device does not exist — the company has never unveiled it. The post appears to be an accidental leak, and the link in the message leads to a page with a form for those willing to try the new firmware.

The form states that beta testers will be among the first to experience the software and will be able to share their thoughts in a closed community. Motorola may also ask participants to write about their experience using Android 17 on the Edge 70 Neo. Registration requires a name, an email address, and permission to access the phone's unique IMEI number for the duration of the testing period.

Not everyone who applies will be selected. If chosen, candidates will receive an email once the program begins. The very existence of such a form suggests that the Edge 70 Neo launch is not far off.

Neo models have traditionally been the compact versions of the Edge lineup. The previous two — the Edge 60 Neo and Edge 50 Neo — featured 6.4-inch pOLED displays and ran on MediaTek Dimensity 7400 and Dimensity 7300 chipsets respectively, both built by TSMC on a 4nm process. The new device is expected to follow this pattern.
