The Witcher 3 Gets a Massive Unofficial Expansion in 2027 — Revenge of Ofir Revealed

The year 2027 is shaping up to be a major one for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as CD Projekt Red is set to release its official Songs of the Past expansion, but a team of modders from around the world is also preparing a massive unofficial project called Revenge of Ofir. Built using the official REDkit modding tools, the expansion will take Geralt of Rivia to the land of Ofir, a region mentioned in Andrzej Sapkowski's novels and teased in the Hearts of Stone expansion.

According to developer W3streams, who showcased the project in a new video, the story takes place after the events of Blood and Wine. "Geralt has retired and started making wine in Corvo Bianco, but he gets involved in yet another story, this time far away in Ofir, where things are far from peaceful after the heir to the throne died," the developer explained. The expansion will feature a brand new region filled with new items, enemies, side quests, monster hunting, non-linear story choices, and even a new Gwent card for those who prefer a game of cards over solving whatever crisis Geralt finds himself in.

The developers promise that players will "immerse yourself in an aspect of Ofir you've never experienced before." While the official release date for Revenge of Ofir has not been announced yet, it is expected to launch in 2027, the same year as the official Songs of the Past expansion. Based on the video footage, the project appears to be ambitious and visually impressive, using the full capabilities of the REDkit to create a new region that feels authentic to the original game. The modding team consists of enthusiasts from various countries, working together to deliver a complete expansion experience.
