Darksiders 4 and next Kingdom Come land between April 2027 and March 2028

Embracer Group has pinned down release windows for two of its biggest upcoming titles. In its Q1 FY 2026/27 report, the company confirmed that both Darksiders 4 and the next Kingdom Come game will launch in the next fiscal year, which runs from April 2027 through March 2028.

Darksiders 4 was announced back in August 2025, with Gunfire Games — the studio behind Darksiders III, which also employs several developers who worked on the first two entries — handling development. For the first time in the franchise's history, all four Horsemen of the Apocalypse will be playable: Death, Strife, Fury, and War. To make the most of that, the team is also introducing online co-op, another series first.

Details on the game itself remain scarce. What we do know is that it will blend combat, traversal, and puzzle-solving, with each Horseman bringing unique weapons, distinct combat styles, and supernatural abilities to the table. The apocalyptic landscapes will be packed with secrets to uncover, enemies to slay, and mythic bosses to defeat.

As for the next Kingdom Come title, fans already had a rough idea of when it might arrive, since developer Warhorse Studios had previously indicated the game would land in that same window. The studio is also in early development on a roleplaying game based on The Lord of the Rings, another Embracer-owned IP. Still, many wondered how a new entry could be ready so soon — the second game only launched in February 2025, and the studio spent seven years making it. A trademark filing offered some clarity: the new game appears to be called Kingdom Come Salvation, suggesting a smaller spin-off rather than a full-fledged sequel. That would explain the shorter development cycle, though Warhorse has yet to officially confirm the title or scope.
