The Duskbloods previews may drop a day before network test — FromSoftware repeats Elden Ring trick

The Duskbloods, FromSoftware's upcoming Switch 2 exclusive announced back in April 2025, remains shrouded in mystery. A network test for the game is scheduled to begin on August 21st, which should finally answer some lingering questions. However, a fresh leak suggests that hands-on previews from the press might land a day earlier.

Reddit user PhantomBraved spotted an unexpected entry in the schedule of Game Two, a German gaming show. The listing included a The Duskbloods preview video for August 20th, but the entry was later removed. While this could have been a simple mistake, the studio's track record offers reason for hope.

Back in 2021, articles about Elden Ring appeared just before FromSoftware launched its network test. Similarly, in 2025, impressions from various outlets became available by the time the Nightreign playtest kicked off. If the developer follows the same pattern, more revealing coverage of the online PvPvE Switch 2 title could surface very soon.

Another possibility is that the studio will wait until Gamescom 2026, which starts on August 26th, to lift embargos. Nintendo did not include The Duskbloods on its itinerary for the showcase, but that does not rule out surprises. One Reddit poster also reminded fans that the event takes place in Germany — the home country of Game Two.

Unless they participate in the network test, gamers will have to rely on the press for media coverage. FromSoftware has stipulated that participants cannot share screenshots or videos recorded on the handheld. Of course, leaks are still likely to flood social media regardless.

A delay remains a possibility in some fans' minds. Kadokawa, FromSoftware's parent company, recently went through events that sparked concerns about the game's schedule. Officially, The Duskbloods is still expected to launch in 2026.
