Darksiders 4 launch window revealed by Embracer: coming within 18 months

Embracer Group has quietly revealed the release window for Darksiders 4 in its first-quarter report for fiscal year 2027. The long-awaited action-adventure from THQ Nordic and Texas-based studio Gunfire Games is now slated for fiscal year 2028, which runs from April 1, 2027, through March 31, 2028. That puts the launch roughly 18 months away at most.
The game was first announced in the summer of 2025 during the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase, but no concrete release date has been provided since. The new financial report also lists other major titles in the same window: an unannounced game set in the Kingdom Come: Deliverance universe from Warhorse Studios, and Tomb Raider: Catalyst, the upcoming action-adventure from Crystal Dynamics.
Earlier reports indicated that Darksiders 4 will continue the story of the original game. Players will take on the role of one of the Four Horsemen and explore a post-apocalyptic world filled with secrets, enemies, and mysterious bosses. The developers promise a detailed world, a fast-paced combat system that blends melee attacks, movement, and supernatural abilities, along with puzzle-solving elements.
Darksiders 4 is being developed for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. A Russian text localization has also been confirmed.
