Russia installs 16 launchers for jet-powered Geran drones at Tsymbulova base

The Russian drone base "Tsymbulova" in the Oryol region has received 16 new launchers for jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicles, the Geran-4 and Geran-5. The information was published by the Telegram channel "Strategic Aviation of the Russian Federation," which monitors strategic aviation, drone strikes, and ballistic launches.

According to the channel, ten of the launchers are designated for the Geran-5, while the remaining six are for the Geran-4. The base also houses four launchers for the Geran-3 and three for the Geran-2. Analysts counted 37 jet-powered Geran-5 drones, eight Geran-4 units, and 56 Geran-2 strike drones in the open area of the facility.

Construction activity was first spotted at the drone base on July 10, meaning the launcher installation was completed in roughly a month. The channel also reports that solar panels have been deployed across the base to provide backup power for communication equipment, weather stations, and drone guidance systems, protecting the facility from potential blackouts. Expansion work is still underway: smaller warehouses for storing Shahed drones are being built in the western section, while construction of larger storage facilities continues simultaneously.
