Redmi Projector 5 Standard Edition offers a 120-inch picture for just $148

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Projector 5 Standard Edition, a new budget projector, in China. During the introductory promotion on the Youpin platform, the device is priced at 999 yuan, roughly $148, compared to its regular retail price of 1,299 yuan.

The model is designed to produce images up to 120 inches in diagonal with a throw ratio of 1.2:1. The sealed optical unit delivers a native resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a brightness of 400 CVIA lumens. A laser ToF sensor handles automatic focusing and image correction.

The projector features a minimalist body with a built-in metal gimbal mechanism that allows rotation through 360 degrees for flexible positioning. Under the hood, it uses a ninth-generation MediaTek processor, paired with 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of eMMC flash storage.

Audio output comes from a built-in 6 W speaker. Connectivity options include HDMI, USB-A, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, enabling easy hookup of external devices. The product targets consumers seeking a large-screen experience at a minimal cost.
