QEMU 11.1 Brings UFS Write Booster Emulation and RISC-V Big Endian Support

The QEMU virtualization stack has received a new version, 11.1, which introduces a range of improvements, though no single feature stands out as a headline addition. The release is now available for download from the project's official website, with a detailed changelog published on the QEMU wiki.

The most notable change is the addition of Write Booster emulation for UFS storage, implemented in line with the UFS 4.1 specification. The code also now supports emulation of Host Initiated Defragmentation (HID), a host-triggered defragmentation mechanism also derived from this version of the standard.

Other subsystems have been refined as well: the graphical interface received fixes, and user-mode emulation saw substantial enhancements. For the RISC-V architecture, support for new extensions, including Zvfbfa, has been added, along with the first implementation of big endian operation. On the Arm side, QEMU 11.1 adds support for numerous new CPU architectural features.
