Postal 2 Redux arrives spring 2027: Unity 6, seamless world, and Champ the dog bites passersby

Impact Inked, Team Beef, and Running With Scissors have announced the release window for the remastered version of the infamous first-person shooter Postal 2. Postal 2 Redux is set to launch in spring 2027, with the developers releasing new screenshots showcasing the upgraded visuals.
The studios confirmed they have no plans to radically alter the gameplay or story. Players will once again experience the "average week" of The Dude, whose mundane errands spiral into chaos, firefights, and outright madness. However, the Redux version introduces several major improvements.
The game has been ported to the modern Unity 6 engine, enabling high-resolution textures, updated character models, realistic lighting, and a general visual overhaul. The world is now seamless, with no loading screens. The developers have enhanced NPC artificial intelligence, making reactions to player actions more appropriate. Physics have been improved, and interiors have been reworked with increased destructibility. Notably, the dog Champ can now bite pedestrians. The remaster also supports ultrawide monitors, modern controls, a refined user interface, and gamepads.
Postal 2 Redux will be available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2, and Quest. Versions for Xbox and Switch are promised for a later release.
