Motorola Edge 70 Pro debuts with 5200-nit display and 6500 mAh battery from €478

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro has reached international markets with specs that put it on par with flagship phones, even though the company positions it at the upper end of the mid-range segment. The device features a display brightness of up to 5200 nits, a 6500 mAh silicon-carbon battery, and a chassis just 7.2 mm thick with IP68/IP69 protection.

The key technical upgrade is a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and optical image stabilization. It joins a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and an ultra-wide module. The 6.78-inch AMOLED screen supports a 144 Hz refresh rate, a 1272×2772 pixel resolution, and 1 billion colors.

The hardware platform is built around a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme processor. Memory configurations include 8/256 GB, 12/256 GB, and 12/512 GB with UFS 4.1 storage. The phone runs Android 16 with the Hello UI skin, which includes Moto AI features and avoids bloatware. The handset weighs 183 g, uses Gorilla Glass 7i, a plastic frame, an eco-leather back, and meets the MIL-STD-810H standard.

Reviewers highlight battery life as one of the strongest aspects, along with image quality in good lighting. Drawbacks include software support limited to three major Android updates, noticeable noise in low-light video, and a high launch price in some regions.

On the international market, the 8/256 GB version is priced at €478 (around 46,000 rubles), the 12/256 GB variant costs 41,699 Indian rupees (roughly 36,000 rubles), and the top-tier 12/512 GB model goes for €630 (about 60,000 rubles). When the price drops to €550–600 (52,000–57,000 rubles), the device becomes one of the most balanced offers in the mid-range segment. Compared to its predecessor, the Edge 60 Pro, the new model is noticeably thinner and has a less pronounced screen curvature. The global version comes in Pantone colors.
