MegaFon boosts LTE in Miass to 100 Mbps for 140,000 residents and tourists

Mobile internet in Miass, one of the largest cities in the Chelyabinsk region, has gotten faster: the operator installed new telecom equipment that delivers data speeds of up to 100 Mbps even during peak hours. The upgrades benefit not only permanent residents but also visitors, whose numbers grow in the summer season.

New base stations have appeared in the Melentyevka neighborhood, near the Avtozavodtsev Park, in the village of Syrostan, and on the Obyezdnaya Road. The equipment operates across several frequency bands simultaneously, expanding coverage and increasing network capacity for a large number of concurrent users. As a result, subscribers can expect stable voice calls without delays and a reliable 4G signal.

The upgraded infrastructure is available to more than 140,000 people, including locals and newcomers. During the warmer months, tourists passing through Miass head to the Ilmen Nature Reserve, the Miass Museum of Local Lore, or Lake Turgoyak, along with summer residents from Chelyabinsk and neighboring regions. They can now use digital services, share data, and stay in touch with family without any loss of quality.

Gennady Zhukov, director of MegaFon in the Chelyabinsk region, said the comprehensive approach to network modernization has made online browsing more comfortable in several parts of Miass at once, and this work will continue. He stressed the importance of ensuring that users anywhere in the city can quickly reach relatives or get remote assistance.

Since the start of the year, the operator has built and modernized about 80 telecom sites across the Southern Urals. Ahead of the summer season, connectivity was also improved for summer residents in Chelyabinsk, Magnitogorsk, and the Kaslinsky district.
