MegaFon connects 600 villagers in Udmurtia to mobile internet

The village of Ust-Sarapulka in the Sarapulsky district of Udmurtia, located less than 20 km from Sarapul, has gained reliable mobile connectivity and internet access. The launch of MegaFon telecom equipment has made digital services available to about 600 local residents, who can now use video calls, online cinemas and news platforms.

During construction, engineers took into account the region's climate and terrain features, which enabled coverage across both the center and the outskirts of the settlement. Schoolchildren have also gained new opportunities, with educational platforms and self-learning tools now accessible via smartphones.

Alexander Solovyev, director of MegaFon in Udmurtia, noted that connectivity significantly transforms daily life by opening access to remote work, online medicine and government services. According to him, residents of small settlements begin actively using the network from the first days the base stations go live.

The operator has additionally opened a new communications store in central Sarapul, opposite the XXL shopping center. Locals can replace SIM cards, purchase and configure devices, and activate antivirus or screen protection there. Staff will assist with choosing a rate plan and connecting additional services.

Earlier in the same district, MegaFon launched base stations in the villages of Mazunino and Tarasovo, covering the settlements and adjacent sections of the road connecting Sarapul and Kambarka.
