Kia PV7 electric van spotted nearly twice as long as PV5 ahead of 2027 launch

Kia is preparing its second electric van, the PV7, which will be significantly larger than the already-selling PV5. Fresh spy shots published by Autospy show a prototype with less camouflage than before, while footage from HealerTV gives a clearer sense of the vehicle's size: the PV7's wheelbase is almost as long as the tow truck carrying it.

The PV5, Kia's first electric van under its PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) division, went on sale last year and quickly became the top-selling small (C-segment) electric van in Europe and the UK. Through the first half of 2026, it accounts for over 50% of C-segment electric van sales in five countries: 63% in Denmark, 62% in Ireland, 59% in Sweden, 58% in Finland, and 54% in the UK.

The PV7 Concept shown at CES 2024 measured 5,270 mm in length, 2,065 mm in width, and 2,120 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,390 mm. By comparison, the PV5 Passenger is 4,695 mm long, 1,895 mm wide, and 1,915 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,995 mm. That makes the PV7 more than half a meter longer than its smaller sibling.

Like the PV5, the PV7 is expected to come with Hyundai's new Pleos infotainment system and fleet software. Final specs and trims will be revealed closer to the launch, scheduled for 2027.

Kia also plans to expand the PV5 lineup with a seven-seater (2-2-3 layout), a luxury Prime version, and a Cargo High Roof model. After the PV7 arrives next year, the company will introduce the flagship PV9 van in 2029. With a full range of electric commercial vehicles — PV5, PV7, and PV9 — Kia aims to sell 232,000 PBVs by 2030.
