Garmin pushes beta 23.22 for Fenix 8 and Enduro 3 with 11 bug fixes

Garmin keeps refining its premium smartwatch lineup. Following the beta 23.19 release from late July, the company has rolled out version 23.22 for the Enduro 3, Fenix 8, Quatix 8, and Fenix 8 Pro. The firmware is now available to those enrolled in the Garmin Beta Program.

According to the manufacturer, only about 20% of beta participants have received a download notification for the new build. Others can manually check for the update by navigating through the main menu on the watch to System, then Software Update, and selecting 'Check for Updates'.

Version 23.22 brings twelve changes over 23.19, eleven of which are bug fixes. The key addition is a prompt informing Fenix 8 series owners that watch face selection during boat mode will only appear once boat mode is turned off.

Fixes address a crash during incident detection and reboots triggered by viewing the morning report or receiving an audio spectator message. Developers also resolved pace and speed dropouts, particularly during interval training, and fixed audio playback issues when music was paused.

Other corrections include silent mode not being honored during activity focus mode, sporadic device reboots, and the inability to change watch face style on the Quatix. The volume slider in music controls no longer jumps around or becomes unresponsive, and morning and evening reports now time out properly.

This is the sixth beta in the v23.xx cycle, and the number of bugs found suggests Garmin is still actively polishing the firmware ahead of a stable release.
