GTA VI trailer hits Netflix on August 27 with six-hour exclusivity before YouTube

For the first time in the series' history, an extended Grand Theft Auto VI showcase will premiere exclusively on a streaming service. Rockstar Games announced that the third trailer will debut on Netflix on Thursday, August 27 at 3 p.m. ET, with other platforms getting it only six hours later.

A dedicated page for the event is already live on the platform. The description promises "an extended look at Grand Theft Auto VI, the next evolution in the groundbreaking Grand Theft Auto series." Unlike the cinematic trailers released so far, Rockstar says this presentation will show how the game will actually appear on consoles when it launches this year.

For those without a Netflix subscription, the trailer will go up the same day at 9 p.m. ET on Rockstar's official YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI website. That leaves a six-hour exclusivity window, during which the company is likely to aggressively target re-streams and reuploads on other platforms.

The first GTA VI trailer arrived in 2023, followed by a surprise second one in 2025 — both before multiple release-date delays. The launch is now set for November 19, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. The game will be digital-only, with even physical copies containing just a download code. No PC version has been announced.
