Gigabyte X870 AORUS Infinity: flagship AM5 board for Ryzen 9000 overclocking with USB 4.0 and PCIe Gen5

Gigabyte has unveiled its flagship overclocking-oriented motherboard, the X870 AORUS Infinity, built for AMD Ryzen processors. The new model belongs to AMD's 800-series chipset family and is designed to succeed 600-series boards that have been on the market for four years since the AM5 platform launch.
The board is based on the X870 chipset, part of a lineup AMD introduced for the high-end and mainstream segments. Alongside it, the company also announced X870E, B850, and B840 models. All X870 and X870E boards feature USB 4.0 support, PCIe Gen5 for graphics and NVMe storage, and higher EXPO memory clock support. New PBO and CO algorithms introduced with Ryzen 9000 CPUs work out of the box on these boards.
The X870 AORUS Infinity supports Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 processors, including the Zen 5 "Granite Ridge" family. It offers enhanced overclocking capabilities and improved I/O, aimed at attracting new AM5 builders as well as users upgrading from the aging AM4 platform, which has been supported since 2017.
The X870 chipset uses a single Promontory 21 controller, while the higher-end X870E uses two of them. The lower-tier B850 and B840 chipsets are based on Promontory 21 and Promontory 19, respectively. Pricing for the X870 AORUS Infinity has not yet been announced.
