Cubot KingKong Dura: replaceable battery without removing the back cover, plus IP69K protection

Cubot has unveiled the KingKong Dura, a rugged outdoor smartphone that stands out by allowing battery swaps without removing the back cover. The 5,000 mAh battery is accessed via a slider on the case, and its rear side actually forms part of the device's exterior. This design lets users quickly replace a drained battery with a fully charged spare without needing a wall outlet or a power bank. An external charging station for spare batteries is also available.
Despite its modular approach, the KingKong Dura meets both MIL-STD-810H and IP69K certification standards, ensuring it is waterproof and dustproof. The device is set to launch on September 1, 2026, and will be sold exclusively through TikTok Shop initially. According to GSMArena, the smartphone features a 6.88-inch IPS display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1,640 x 720 pixels. It is equipped with a 64-megapixel main camera and a 16-megapixel selfie camera. Under the hood, the KingKong Dura runs on a Unisoc T620 processor, which includes two Cortex-A75 performance cores and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. The device comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, expandable via a microSD card.
