Amazon Ember QLED review: budget TV with Alexa+ let down by oversaturation and ads

Amazon's budget QLED television, unveiled in November 2025, has drawn mixed reviews: the Ember QLED handles 4K content well but falls short of cheaper rivals due to oversaturated warm tones, imperfect black levels, and intrusive ads in the interface.

The set stands out with a built-in Alexa+ voice assistant and a responsive Fire TV platform. However, Tom's Guide testers note that overall it does not earn a spot among the best TVs under $500. Brightness also trails many alternatives, which is especially noticeable with HDR material.

The Ember QLED lineup spans multiple screen sizes, and every version except the 50-inch model features full-array local dimming for deeper blacks and punchier highlights. All units include a physical microphone-off switch on the bottom of the chassis.

Pricing varies significantly by region and screen size. In the US, the 50-inch model costs $479, the 55-inch version is $589, and the 65-inch unit goes for $849. In the UK, the 50-inch TV is priced at £649, notably higher than its American counterpart, while the 75-inch model is not sold there at all.

The main issue is value against the competition. For instance, the 65-inch Hisense QD7 costs $439, almost $400 less than Amazon's equivalent, while delivering comparable picture quality and, in reviewers' opinion, representing a smarter purchase. Those willing to tolerate color inaccuracies and ad interruptions for the convenience of the Alexa ecosystem may find the Ember QLED acceptable, but cinephiles should look elsewhere.
