Zalman quietly launches four new dual-tower CPU coolers — up to 285 W TDP with ARGB options

Zalman has quietly expanded its long-running CNPS CPU cooler lineup with four new dual-tower air coolers: the CNPS15X BP and CNPS12X BP, each available in standard and ARGB versions. The CNPS series, which has been on the market for over a decade, now gets a refresh aimed at users seeking high-performance air cooling without the complexity of liquid systems.

The flagship model, CNPS15X BP, measures 126 x 135 x 159 mm and weighs 1,170 g. It features six reverse direct-touch heat pipes with a black coating, an aluminum radiator with 104 fins and a total heat dissipation area of 9,997 cm². The cooler is rated for a 285 W TDP, making it suitable for high-end desktop processors under heavy loads. It comes with two 120 mm ZM-XF120 fans, which are available in a standard version or an ARGB variant with addressable lighting. The fans operate between 600 and 2,000 RPM, delivering up to 71.14 CFM of airflow at a maximum noise level of 32.9 dB(A). For memory compatibility, Zalman states a 44 mm clearance for standard-height RAM modules, and up to 52 mm for modules when using the cut-out fin design on the radiator.

The smaller CNPS12X BP measures 120 x 120 x 153 mm and weighs 750 g. It uses six nickel-plated copper heat pipes with a direct-touch design and is rated for a 260 W TDP. The two 120 mm fans spin from 800 to 1,800 RPM, achieving up to 74.62 CFM of airflow at 32.2 dB(A). Despite the lower TDP rating, the CNPS12X BP is slightly quieter and moves more air than its larger sibling, which may appeal to users prioritizing noise levels over maximum cooling capacity.

Both models leverage Zalman's established direct-touch heat pipe technology, where the pipes make direct contact with the CPU heat spreader for improved thermal transfer. The ARGB variants add customizable lighting effects, allowing users to sync the cooler with other components in their build. The new coolers are designed to fit standard ATX and smaller form factor cases, though the CNPS15X BP's 159 mm height may require checking case clearance.

Zalman has not yet announced pricing or availability for the CNPS15X BP and CNPS12X BP series. The company's CNPS line has historically been well-regarded for its balance of performance and cost, and these new models aim to continue that tradition with updated designs and higher TDP ratings. Enthusiasts looking for an air cooling solution that can handle modern high-power CPUs without the risk of pump failure or leaks may find these options worth considering once they hit the market.
