Waste The Fallen is a Lovecraftian extraction shooter where you save civilians

Independent studio Bad Vices Games has announced Waste The Fallen, an extraction horror shooter inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. The game is planned for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, though no release date has been confirmed yet.
The story takes place in the fictional town of Harrow Creek, which has been hit by a strange epidemic that turns residents into monstrous creatures. The player's role is not limited to fighting these horrors — the core objective is to evacuate survivors from the infected zone. According to the developers, levels will be procedurally generated, so each run offers a different layout of buildings, enemy positions, and rescue opportunities.
A key mechanic is tied directly to civilian evacuation. The number of people you manage to save determines how the story unfolds. The game also features a reputation system: your actions and choices affect how other characters perceive you, which in turn can unlock different endings. This adds a layer of moral decision-making to the usual extraction-loop gameplay.
Visually, Waste The Fallen leans heavily into Lovecraftian dread: grotesque creatures, oppressive darkness, and a general sense of hopelessness permeate the setting. The team has already released a trailer and a set of screenshots showing the game's grim atmosphere. Further details, including system requirements and a specific launch window, are expected to be announced at a later stage. The project is currently in active development.
