Volga C50 enters Yandex Go: business sedan to serve taxi in nine Russian cities

The business-class sedan Volga C50 has been officially cleared for operation under the "Business" tariff of the Yandex Go ride-hailing platform. The cars will begin carrying passengers in nine of Russia's largest cities, including Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don and Novosibirsk. Chelyabinsk, Perm, Yekaterinburg and Krasnoyarsk are also on the list. The brand's press office stressed that the vehicle fully meets the requirements of this transportation segment.

The model entered the Russian market in June, following its public debut in April. The manufacturer positions the C50 as one of the roomiest cars in its class. Technically, the sedan belongs to the D-segment: with a length of 4825 mm and a width of 1880 mm, its wheelbase reaches 2800 mm. The model is built on the Chinese Geely Preface platform.

Earlier, the All-Russian Passenger Association sent a request to Russia's Industry Minister asking to allow the new Volga cars to operate in taxi services. With the decision to admit the sedan into ride-hailing now made, the question of using the domestic brand in commercial services has effectively been resolved.
