Valve accidentally leaks Steam Frame unboxing video — reveals glasses spacer and wrist straps

Valve has accidentally published and then quickly removed several videos showcasing the unboxing and key features of its upcoming Steam Frame VR headset. The footage was discovered deep within Steam's backend, but not before screenshots and clips spread across the internet.
The Steam Frame was announced back in November 2025, alongside the new Steam Controller and the Steam Machine console. While both the controller and the console have already started shipping to customers, the VR headset has yet to reach early buyers. Valve previously promised to release it by the end of summer, and the accidental leak suggests the company is now racing to meet that deadline.
In the videos, Valve emphasizes user comfort and accessibility. The headset is built from lightweight materials to reduce strain during extended use. The unboxing reveals several accessories included in the box: a plastic glasses spacer designed to make the headset more comfortable for users who wear corrective eyewear, additional adjustable straps, a nose guard, and controller grips.
Valve also highlights the technical capabilities of the Steam Frame. The headset comes with a dedicated 6 GHz wireless adapter (Wi-Fi 6E) that streams games from a PC or Steam Machine with low latency and at the highest possible resolution, freeing users from wired connections. In addition, the Steam Frame can run games natively thanks to a powerful ARM-based Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. The device features dual LCD displays with a resolution of 2160 x 2160 pixels per eye and custom pancake lenses offering a field of view of up to 110 degrees.
