Ugreen launches DisplayLink dock: four 4K monitors on one cable for a MacBook

Ugreen's new USB-C docking station lets a laptop drive four external monitors at 4K resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate. The device relies on DisplayLink technology, which sends video over the USB channel as data, bypassing the limits of the built-in graphics core.

The solution is especially relevant for MacBook owners with base Apple Silicon chips M1, M2, and M3: these machines natively support only one external display. Thanks to Synaptics controllers, the dock effectively removes that restriction, enabling a workspace with four screens. The trade-off is added load on the central processor, since video processing falls on the CPU, which may become noticeable with heavy content. For traders, programmers, and analysts who need dozens of windows with charts and code, this compromise looks acceptable. The station works with both Windows and macOS.

Beyond video output, the dock offers a set of modern interfaces: USB-A and USB-C ports with data transfer speeds up to 10 Gbps, a gigabit Ethernet port, and a combo audio jack. The anodized aluminum case aids thermal regulation during intensive work. Pass-through charging delivers up to 100 W to the laptop, so only a single cable remains on the desk, connecting the computer to all peripherals.
