The Ruka TD-1 vertical turntable costs $1,399 — but you'll wait until 2027 for delivery

Ruka Studio has unveiled the TD-1, a vertical turntable designed to be mounted on a wall or placed on a stand. Unlike traditional players, the TD-1 leaves most of the record visible during playback, making it ideal for showcasing special-effect vinyls and picture discs. A magnetic puck keeps the record securely in place.
The housing is made of aluminum, and playback is controlled via tactile buttons on the right side of the unit. The TD-1 is a belt-driven turntable equipped with an MM cartridge. According to the manufacturer, speed deviation is kept under 0.1 percent. Users can connect speakers either via a cable or wirelessly through Bluetooth. Power is supplied over a USB-C cable.
The Ruka TD-1 is now available for pre-order directly from the manufacturer's online store at a price of $1,399. However, deliveries are not expected to begin until the second half of 2027. The vertical turntable market has seen many attempts to replicate the success of Sony's iconic PS-F5 "Flamingo," but Ruka hopes its minimalist design and wall-mount capability will set the TD-1 apart from existing models.
