The Division Resurgence gets 46% positive Steam reviews as players slam microtransactions

The free-to-play The Division Resurgence has hit Steam to a lukewarm reception: the game's rating sits at "mixed" with just 46% of reviews leaning positive. The title, originally built for mobile, arrived on PC via Ubisoft Connect in April and landed on Steam earlier this month.
Players are frustrated by login issues, mouse bugs, and the looter-shooter's combination of underwhelming rewards and aggressive monetization. One user called the game "slop" that "disrespects actual slop," claiming even Korean gacha titles have fewer microtransactions. They also slammed the interface and menus as deliberately convoluted, saying they take more time than the missions themselves.
Another review labels it "complete ass": the core problem is balancing and loot progression. All loot is tied to daily completions, which can be done only four to five times a day, after which XP and rewards drop off sharply. The author concludes this is not a looter-shooter but a "daily log-in simulator" with Division-like systems, recommending players stick to Division 1 or 2 instead.
As with the mainline Division games, it's a third-person shooter where you play a Strategic Homeland Division agent restoring order after the "Green Flu" epidemic plunges the USA into chaos. Like the first game, it's set in New York, letting you fight across Liberty Island and the New York Stock Exchange, with loot rewards like a selection of slightly different tactical beanies and baseball caps.
