Synology Launches RS826+ and RS826RP+ 1U Rackmount NAS with Ryzen V1500B and PCIe 3.0

Synology has announced the immediate availability of the RS826RP+ and RS826+, a pair of compact 1U 4-bay rackmount NAS systems designed for small and medium-sized businesses. The new models are aimed at edge and remote environments, where efficient data management and protection are critical for branch offices and distributed deployments.
The RS826+ and RS826RP+ are powered by a 4-core AMD Ryzen V1500B processor, which delivers sequential read speeds of over 2,000 MB/s and sequential write speeds of over 1,300 MB/s. According to Synology, this level of performance helps accelerate file sharing, synchronization, and backup tasks across branch offices and remote sites, enabling teams to work more productively.
For networking, the systems come with four built-in 1GbE ports and a PCIe 3.0 expansion slot. The slot provides flexibility for network upgrades, supporting 10GbE and 25GbE connectivity via optional network interface cards. Additionally, users can install two Synology M.2 SSDs using an adapter card to enable SSD caching, which reduces latency and speeds up access to frequently used data.
Storage scalability is another key feature. The RS826+ and RS826RP+ can be expanded to up to 8 bays by connecting optional Synology DX517 expansion units. This allows businesses to grow their storage capacity as their needs evolve without replacing the entire system.
The systems run on Synology's DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system, which includes a suite of tools for backup, synchronization, and collaboration. Centralized management is possible through the Synology Central Management System, making it easier for IT administrators to oversee multiple devices from a single interface.
The key difference between the two models is that the RS826RP+ includes a redundant power supply unit for higher reliability, while the RS826+ features a single power supply. Both models are available now.
