RAKwireless launches industrial router on Raspberry Pi CM4/CM5 with 2.5GbE port

RAKwireless has introduced the WisGate Connect Router RAK7392, an industrial edge router and gateway built on Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 or 5. The device targets Internet of Things workloads such as edge computing, VPN setup, Modbus-to-MQTT conversion, and LoRaWAN packet forwarding. It is designed to replace multi-board setups with USB adapters in complex deployments.

The router is powered by one of two single-board modules: the CM4 with a Broadcom BCM2711 processor (quad-core Cortex-A72 at 1.5 GHz) or the CM5 with a Broadcom BCM2712 chip (quad-core Cortex-A76 at 2.4 GHz). RAM and storage capacity depend on the selected module version. A MicroSD slot is available for CM4 Lite and CM5 Lite variants.

Networking capabilities include three Gigabit Ethernet ports (eth1, eth2, eth3) and one 2.5GbE port. Wireless expansion is provided via a mini PCIe slot, and WisBlock connectors allow attaching sensors and I/O modules. This configuration enables functionality scaling without additional expansion boards.

The new model differs from the earlier WisGate Connect RAK7391, also made by RAKwireless. Shipping of the WisGate Connect Router RAK7392 has already started, though the price was not disclosed in the published material.
