PlayStation’s Icon Blue DualSense controller hits the UK in September — pre-orders start this month
PlayStation has announced that its limited-edition Icon Blue Special Edition DualSense controller, which was first released in select markets last October, is finally coming to the United Kingdom.
The official PlayStation UK account on X revealed that pre-orders for the controller will open on August 27 via direct.playstation.com. However, PlayStation Plus members will get a head start and will be able to place their orders two days earlier, on August 25. The controller is expected to hit retail shelves on September 25.
The price of the Icon Blue DualSense has not been officially disclosed yet. Based on the pricing of previous limited and special edition DualSense controllers, including the Marvel's Wolverine Adamantium Limited Edition model, it is expected to retail for £74.99.
The Icon Blue Special Edition DualSense features a distinctive dual-tone blue design. The touchpad, which is adorned with glossy PlayStation icons, and the thumbsticks are finished in a lighter shade of blue, while the handles and the back of the controller are a darker blue. The controller also includes a unique detail on the back: the word "PlayStation" written in Katakana script. The D-pad and action buttons feature white markings that stand out against the blue buttons, providing a clean visual contrast. The overall design gives the controller a fresh and vibrant look, distinguishing it from the standard black and white models.
