Pixel Watch 5 Stephen Curry Edition leaks: €579 with training-focused strap

Days before the official Pixel Watch 5 announcement, details about a special edition co-developed with NBA star Stephen Curry have surfaced online. The model is called Pixel Watch 5 Stephen Curry Edition and will cost 579 euros in Europe.

The special edition is based on the 45-millimeter LTE version of the watch, but its key difference is a fabric strap designed for workouts. The material matches the one used in the Fitbit Air Stephen Curry Edition fitness band that Google released earlier this year. The strap features the athlete's name and the #LockIn hashtag, just like the aforementioned tracker.

The strap has a water-repellent coating intended to make it suitable for sports. However, accompanying documents note that the coating is not permanent and may wear off over time. It was also reported that the special edition will not be available in all markets.

The leak came from My Mobiles materials published alongside insider OnLeaks, including renders of the device. The Pixel Watch 5 Stephen Curry Edition is priced at 579 euros in Europe, which is 30 euros more than the standard 45-millimeter LTE Pixel Watch 5.

The Pixel Watch 5 is expected to be unveiled alongside the Pixel 11 smartphones at the Made by Google event scheduled for August 12.
