Phasmophobia Publisher Unveils Five Games, Including Sam Barlow's Project With Brandon Cronenberg

Kinetic Publishing, an indie label founded by the developers of the co-op horror game Phasmophobia, has held its first games showcase. The event introduced five ambitious titles slated for release in 2027 and 2028.
The most significant announcement was a partnership with Sam Barlow, creator of Telling Lies and Immortality. His new game, titled Precognition and previously known as Project C, will be published by Kinetic. Like Barlow's earlier works, the project blends FMV sequences with nonlinear storytelling. The plot follows Diana, a woman who gains the ability to see the future after an experimental implant is placed in her brain. Players explore these visions, committing key moments to Diana's memory, but every such action alters the events that lie ahead.
Barlow is working on Precognition with his studio Half Mermaid Productions and film director Brandon Cronenberg, known for Infinity Pool and Possessor. The game is set to launch in spring 2028 for Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X / S.
The other four projects will also arrive on the same platforms. Contact Protocol from Cold Zephyr Games is a simulator where players work as a security officer on a starship, tasked with vetting incoming vessels. It is scheduled for spring 2027. Crescent County from Electric Saint is a "cozy-with-bite slice-of-life game" set on a magical island, where the protagonist builds relationships, makes deliveries, and races other characters on flying "motorbrooms" reminiscent of Star Wars speeders. It launches in summer 2027.
Shellbound from Fake Lobster is a Metroidvania set on a giant, living snail. It arrives in summer 2028. Aether Wizard Life from Vonder Games is another cozy title focused on life as a wizard, expected in autumn 2028.
Kinetic announced its publishing arm in January. It continues a trend of successful indie developers, such as Palworld's Pocketpair and the Slay the Princess studio, moving into publishing games from other teams.
