Orbea Urrun 10 e-bike: €4,199 hardtail with Shimano motor built for trails and touring

Spanish manufacturer Orbea has introduced the Urrun 10, an electric bicycle aimed at off-road riding but easily adapted for long journeys. Positioned as a high-performance hardtail, the model omits a rear shock, yet a Marzocchi fork with 120 mm of travel ensures stable handling on light trails and extended routes.

The Urrun 10's defining feature is its mid-mounted Shimano EP600 RS+ motor from the EP series. This layout shifts the center of gravity downward, a crucial factor for control on rough terrain. The powertrain delivers up to 85 Nm of torque. Power comes from an integrated 630 Wh battery, which can be supplemented by an optional 210 Wh range extender.

However, ordering the extra battery directly from Orbea carries a steep €449 surcharge, noticeably inflating the final cost. Against that backdrop, the €109 package—including Curana fenders and a luggage rack compatible with the MIK-HD standard—feels almost budget-friendly and significantly boosts the bike's touring appeal. Headlight, taillight, and kickstand are also available but priced separately.

The drivetrain uses a 12-speed Shimano XT groupset, enabling efficient climbing on steep grades even without continuous motor assistance. Braking is handled by hydraulic Shimano MT6120 disc brakes. Both wheels are 29-inch with Schwalbe Wicked Will Evo tires, ruling out a mullet setup with different diameters. The minimum claimed weight is just under 20 kg. The Urrun 10 is priced at €4,199, and Orbea actively sells its bikes across numerous global markets.
