Flyer's €8,000 carbon e-bike features Pinion gearbox and automatic shifting

Swiss manufacturer Flyer has unveiled its flagship G1 Upstreet TR:CF 7.63 model, positioned as a truly premium product. The new bike combines a carbon frame with an integrated gearbox and mid-drive motor, which is clearly reflected in the price: in Germany, it costs 7,999 euros. Sales have already started in some countries, though the model is not yet widely available.

The key feature is the Motor.Gearbox.Unit from Pinion, which combines an electric motor and a 12-speed gearbox in a single housing. This design protects the drivetrain from external impacts better than a traditional derailleur. The system supports fully automatic shifting, allowing the rider to focus on riding rather than selecting the right gear. Instead of a chain, Flyer uses a carbon belt, complemented by a short protective guard.

Equipment includes front and rear fenders, a kickstand, and a luggage rack with a tension strap and additional struts for panniers. An Abus lock is included and works with the same key as the battery lock. The 700 Wh battery provides enough range for long trips. The bike weighs 29 kilograms, and the maximum permissible total weight is 150 kilograms. It is available in three frame sizes and two color options.
