OnePlus exits North America and Europe: phone support ends in August

OnePlus has officially ceased operations in North America and Europe. The company will no longer launch new smartphones or restock existing models in these regions. The decision was announced on July 16 via its Community blog, where the manufacturer described the move as a "proactive global strategy adjustment" and thanked customers for years of support.

As part of the shutdown, the official Community app and website will go offline on August 16 at 11:59 p.m. EST. The final smartphone released in these markets was the OnePlus 15. Since July 16, the device has been available for purchase on the company's official website, but stock is expected to run out quickly.

Existing OnePlus smartphones will continue to receive software updates, security patches, and technical support. This means current owners won't be left without service, but new purchases in these regions will no longer be possible. Users considering OnePlus for a future upgrade will have to look for alternatives.

For those who value OnePlus's features, Nothing smartphones could serve as a close replacement. This brand, founded by former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, offers a similar approach to design and software focused on clean Android. Nothing maintains a philosophy of minimalism and ecosystem integration, making it a natural successor for OnePlus fans.

Another option remains Motorola, which traditionally offers good value for money. Its devices often receive updates over a long period and support near-stock versions of Android, which may appeal to users accustomed to the OnePlus experience. However, it's worth noting that none of these alternatives exactly replicate all the features and functions of OnePlus, such as the signature alert slider or OxygenOS.
