Netflix puts a man inside a 9-meter billboard to promote thriller The Last House

Netflix has launched an unusual promotional stunt for its sci-fi thriller The Last House: a man will live inside a giant billboard in Los Angeles for three days. The structure is located near Sunset Boulevard, with a fully furnished room perched 9 meters above the ground.
The man, dressed in a robe, watches the street below through binoculars from a bay window. A sign next to the window reads "How long could you survive?" He communicates with passersby using a message board, trying to "act as normally as possible," according to Entertainment Weekly. The space is equipped as a living room with books, a globe, and a deck of cards, while an air conditioner helps him cope with the heat.
The film, directed by Louis Leterrier, follows a family trapped inside their own home. Greta Lee and Wagner Moura play a couple with two young children who struggle to survive a mysterious external threat as their resources run out. Leterrier said the movie "challenges the idea of a safe haven," turning the family home into a hostile environment where survival depends on unity.
The director was intrigued by Matthew Robinson's script, which explores the idea of a person waking up to find themselves physically locked inside their house for no apparent reason. Greta Lee praised the survival story for its unexpected twist and philosophical questions. Wagner Moura promised the plot would unfold in ways audiences won't anticipate. The Last House premiered on Netflix this Friday.
