Moto G Max debuts with 7000 mAh battery and Android 16

Motorola has unveiled the Moto G Max, a smartphone built around a large battery, a high-refresh-rate display and a rugged chassis.
The device features a 6.72-inch FHD+ screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1050 nits in high-brightness mode. The Water Touch 2.0 technology is designed to improve touch accuracy when water gets on the display, while the panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic.
Under the hood sits the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. With virtual memory expansion, the total RAM can be increased to 24 GB. The phone runs Android 16 with the Hello UX interface on top. Motorola promises two major Android updates and three years of security patches.
The main camera relies on a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 600 sensor, accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. For selfies, there is a 32-megapixel front-facing module. The smartphone also comes with stereo speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos and retains a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
One of the standout features of the Moto G Max is its silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 7000 mAh, which supports 30 W wired charging. The body meets IP64 ingress protection and MIL-STD-810H durability standards, making the device suitable for harsher conditions.
With this combination of a long-lasting battery, a bright 120 Hz display and a protective design, the Moto G Max targets users who prioritize endurance and reliability over flagship camera specs. The inclusion of a headphone jack and expandable virtual RAM further positions the device as a practical mid-range option.
