Minisforum M1 with Core i9-13900HX debuts at $400 for a bare-bones config

Minisforum has unveiled an updated version of its compact M1 series PC, powered by the Intel Core i9-13900HX processor. The new model comes in three configurations, with the entry-level unit lacking RAM and storage priced at $400.

Compared to the predecessor M1-1295, which used the Core i9-12950HX chip, the refreshed model relies on a more modern processor featuring efficient cores and higher clock speeds. Better-equipped versions cost more: a build with 16 GB of RAM and a 500 GB solid-state drive goes for $600, while the top-tier option with 32 GB of memory and a 1 TB SSD is priced at $797.

The chassis accommodates two DDR4 SO-DIMM slots for memory and two M.2 2280 drives connected via PCIe Gen4 ×4. Wireless connectivity is handled by Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 modules.

Port selection is generous: a 2.5 Gbps RJ45 network jack, a full-featured USB-C at 10 Gbps, two USB-A ports at the same speed, and another pair of USB-A capped at 480 Mbps. Display output options include DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 TMDS, along with three 3.5 mm audio jacks.
