Marshall Stanmore IV brings powerful bass and LDAC, but skips Wi-Fi and voice assistant

Marshall has unveiled the Stanmore IV, the latest update to its home audio speaker lineup. The new model delivers improved sound quality with deep bass, supports the LDAC codec, and includes Auracast technology for multi-room audio setups.
In terms of construction, the Stanmore IV resembles the smaller Acton IV but uses a larger woofer. Inside, the engineers installed a single 5-inch subwoofer with 60W amplification and two 0.75-inch tweeters, each powered by 25W. The total system output provides clean and powerful sound.
When playing guitar parts and vocals, the speaker demonstrates high detail and accurate frequency reproduction. Low frequencies go down to 38 Hz, making the sub-bass sound energetic and tight. The powerful bass does not overpower the midrange and treble: high frequencies remain expressive, and vocals have enough space.
The LDAC codec support enables high-resolution audio streaming over Bluetooth. However, the manufacturer did not include Wi-Fi for network streaming or a built-in voice assistant. The design remains nearly unchanged from the previous generation, retaining the iconic vintage look.
Users control the speaker through a convenient companion app. Auracast technology allows multiple speakers to be linked for synchronized playback across different rooms.
