Lenovo ThinkStation P3 Tiny drops 59%: 14-core mini PC now $799

Lenovo has cut the price of its ThinkStation P3 Tiny mini PC by 59% on its official US store, bringing the cost down to $799. The $1,150 discount applies to a configuration with a desktop-class Intel Core Ultra 5 235 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a 512 GB drive.

The Arrow Lake-S chip packs 14 cores and trails the mobile AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 by only about 5% in multi-threaded performance, putting it on par with top-tier laptop CPUs. Its integrated graphics, however, are weak: the four-core iGPU is comparable to a Radeon 660M and nearly half as fast as the newer Radeon 780M in certain workloads. This variant has no discrete GPU, so it is not suited for gaming or heavy rendering.

Memory and storage are upgradeable: two SODIMM slots allow RAM expansion up to 128 GB, while three M.2 2280 slots accommodate additional SSDs. The chassis is genuinely compact, measuring 7 x 1.5 x 7.2 inches and weighing about 1.4 kg.

Port selection includes USB-C at 20 Gbps, USB-A at 5 Gbps, five USB-A at 10 Gbps, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and Ethernet. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 are optional extras. Expansion options add up to four serial ports, up to four Gigabit Ethernet ports, two punch-out ports for HDMI, DP, VGA, Serial, and more, plus up to four additional USB-A ports at 10 Gbps.

Rising DRAM and storage prices, driven by massive data center investments for AI, have made mini PCs less affordable, so this promotion stands out as a rare chance to save. For those willing to overlook the lack of a discrete GPU, the model could be a solid deal.
